Overview
Popularly called ‘Olamide Baddo’, ‘Baddo’, ‘Baddo Sneh’ or simply ‘Olamide’; Olamide is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and indigenous hip-hop rapper.
He founded the YBNL Nation, an independent record label where several top Nigerian Music Stars signed under its imprint. Olamide flows in his native language, Yoruba, and he is an award-winning Nigerian rapper.

Early beginnings
Olamide fell in love with Rap music as early his primary school days. Soon, he discovered he also had the talent to Rap and began to nurture that talent in the year 2000. Since then he has featured on songs like “I’m grateful” by Maiojoe, “Take me there” by Jahbless and he has dropped some nostalgic lines on the collaborative track between him, Zara, and Adol called “Naija Hail”
Olamide who is currently working on his first album which will feature artists like Adol and Wizkid is under the musical care of Coded Tunes boss ID Cabasa. Being a versatile artist, he not only raps but also writes for different genres of music such as Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae and Pop. Although his mentor is Jay-Z, he also appreciates music from the likes of Ludacris, Birdman, and Lil Wayne.
Olamide has performed live on big stages all over Nigeria and he is most definitely a street favourite. It is safe to say, the streets love him and he loves them back. His music is gaining serious mass appeal and his rap style is being enjoyed by many.

Rapsodi
This debut studio album was released in 2011 under the Coded Tunes record label. The 16 songs tracklist featured guest appearances from Pheelz, 9ice, D’banj, Wizkid, Reminisce and many more. Rapsodi is a hip-hop album performed in the Yoruba language.
YBNL – Yahoo Boy No laptop
His second studio album titled Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL), was dropped on November 12, 2012. The artist that made a guest appearance in the album include Kay Switch, Kidakudz, Davido, Tiwa Savage and Buckwlya. The producers are Pheelz, Samklef, 2kris, Tyrone and ID Cabasa. It had four singles – Ilefo Illuminati (2011), First of All (2012), Stupid Love (2012), Voice of the Street (2012), Owotabua and Duro Soke.
The lyrics of the album focuses on his love for God and the streets that raised him. The album received 2 awards from The Headies 2013 as the Best Rap Album and Album of the Year.
Baddest Guy Ever Liveth
The album, Baddest Guy Ever Liveth, was released on Nov. 7, 2013 under the YBNL Nation record label and was the Executive producer of the album with Pheelz, Buckwyla, Ketchup and Pepenazi as Guest artists. It is a hip-hop album recorded in the Yoruba Language. The album singles are Durosoke (2013), Turn Up (2013), Yemi, My Lover (2013), Eleda Mi o (2014). It was awarded the Best Rap Album and Album of the Year from Headies, 2014, and the Best Album of the Year from Nigeria Entertainments Awards also in 2014.
Street OT
Street OT Album was released on Nov. 14, 2014, under YBNL Nation. Street OT was a follow-up on his previous albums, after deciding that he will produce an album every year. Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Pasuma, Don Jazzy, Reminisce and Phyno made guest appearances in the album. The album focuses on showing his love for the streets. It has two singles – Story for the gods (2014), Goons Mi (2014). Olamide was the Executive Producer, with Pheelz, B-Banks, and Young John as additional producers.
It is a combination of hip-hop, rap, and afrobeat. This time, the album was done with English, Yoruba and Igbo language. Out of three nominations for the award in 2015, it won the album of the year in the Headies 2015.
Eyan Mayweather
Eyan Mayweather, Olamide’s fifth studio album was released on Nov 23, 2015. It was released through YBNL Nation with studio production from Pheelz, B-Banks, ID Cabasa, and Young John. It has four singles: Bobo (2015), Matters Arising (2015), Lagos Boys (2015), and Melo Melo (2015).
In the following years, he released two other albums – The Glory (2016), and Lagos Nawa (2017).
Collaborative Studio Album (2Kings)
In 2015, he had a collaborative studio album with Phyno under Penthouse Music and YBNL Nation. The album also featured Wizkid, Lil Kesh, and Rex; it also featured producers such as Pheelz, Major Bangz and B-Banks. The Album also had two hip-hop singles Une (2015), and Confirm Ni (2015).
YBNL Nation
Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) Nation Label is an independent record label founded in 2012 by Olamide Adedeji. The name is a slang referring to a young boy making money with no illegal dealings. Currently, it has signed many artistes: Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Adekunle Gold, D J Enimoney, Picazo, Temmi Ovwasa and many more. While the likes of Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh have left, some are still under the label.
In 2016, it won the record label of the year in the City People Entertainment Award.

Olamide has been in a relationship with Adebunkunmi Aisha Suleiman long before he rose to stardom in the music industry. He proposed to her in March 2018 and they have a son Batifeori Maximilliano Adedeji born in 2015.
